What inspired you to write the book?
You know this is actually my second book. My first book was called Priceless Inspirations. I used to always journal with that book, and then I decided to turn my journal into a book. I ended up working with a publishing company and that was kind of crazy, because I had to get a lawsuit to be able to sell the book. It put me in a bad place, because I wanted to continue to push the book but I had to deal with all of these legal issues. I thought it was over, but I kept telling myself ‘let me not give up because I’m not a quitter, I have to keep going’. I was thinking ‘let me take it in a different direction this time,’ and I want to write a book people are not going to be expecting from me.

This time I wanted to self-publish. It was just an idea at first, but then I started to do research about running a publishing company and writing a book. I found a co-writer to work with me, but I came up with the title, story, graphics, and everything else. I decided to go with the title “How to Lose a Husband” because we live in a day-and-age where negativity goes further than positivity. I was already going through a lot of drama in my marriage and personal life that I felt the title would grab people’s attention, and writing stories like the ones in the book come from real life experiences. I believe that it can help to also save marriages, or people that are planning on getting married. It isn’t a guide on how to lose your husband, but an actual fiction book based off of life experiences. The moral of the story is you have to be whole before you can become anyone’s half.

What mistakes do you believe women make when they get into a relationship?
Sometimes women don’t know one hundred percent what they want, meaning that they’re still trying to find themselves, or they are not all the way happy and complete with themselves. How can you make your mate or husband happy, or help bring happiness into their lives if you’re not one hundred percent complete in your life?

What can we expect in the future or is this book a series of other books to follow?
I would say this book is definitely something I want to continue, and my ultimate goal is to one day turn it into a movie. I feel that through my growth and my journey there are many young ladies and fans that I share my life with, and they inspire me. So my goal is to turn it into a movie like a modern day Waiting to Exhale. Sometimes you have to dream big to where people think you’re crazy! I’m just like ‘child, just watch!’
