With the new season of Tyler Perry’s The Haves and Have Nots premiering next week, we had to get the inside scoop of what’s to come in the premiere episode. We chatted with the handsome hunk Peter Parros about his character “Judge Harrington” and what we can expect in the fourth season.

Tell me about your role as Judge Harrington in The Haves and Have Nots and what to expect this season on the show.

When I initially auditioned for the role, I spoke in my regular voice and the role was a very different role. The character was a certified financial planner. The first day of shooting they did not get to me, but I was watching the shooting and by the time I got the scripts, the character was a Judge running for Lieutenant Governor and I was like, ‘this has got to be a guy from the South.’

I added the accent to it and Tyler ended up liking it and I was like, ‘I have to make this stick.’ That is one of the definitive things about the character is the way he speaks. It has been a really great ride with the show and just developing this guy who is dealing with his crazy wife that he loves, but now that they’ve built this empire, it is just all falling apart.

He’s got his son that came out as gay and his wife does not accept it and that is one of the main conflicts between them. He loves his wife and he loves his son, but there is a lot of drama behind that. It has been great how people have responded to the character and the passion that the audience has about the show. I love working with Tyler and giving out to Atlanta. It’s great! Expect to see a lot of surprises this season on the show.
