Urbanworld Film Festival hits New York City this weekend, September 18th-22nd and the lineup is a showcase of black excellence. The annual festival is celebrating its twenty third year with epic debuts. The highly anticipated Harriet, starring Cynthia Erivo, true justice story, Just Mercy, starring Michael B. Jordan and Jamie Foxx, and cop thriller, Black and Blue are all set to have their premiere this weekend.

New television shows, Mixed-ish, and First Wives Club are also set to premiere, as well as a host of independent films, including Release by Bronx native and Spike Lee mentee, Adel L. Morales.
