Emmy award-winning actress and comedian, Uzo Aduba will portray Toni Stone in an off-Broadway play!
The play will revolve around the life story of Toni Stone who became the first woman to go pro in the leagues despite discrimination for her color and gender.
Aduba is most known for her role as Suzanne “Crazy Eyes” Warren on Netflix’s, Orange is the New Black.
Aduba is the first actress to ever win Emmy awards in both drama and comedy for the same role! she won the Emmy award for Outstanding Actress in 2015 and another for comedy in 2014. She also holds five SAG awards and a Critic’s Choice Award!
The play entitled, The Remarkable Story of Toni Stones was shared by the production company, Roundabout Theater company just days ago!
The play is based on the book, “Curveball” by Martha Ackmann and will be directed by Tony award-winning director, Pam MacKinnon.
In addition to Stone making history in the league, she was also inducted into the Women’s Sports Foundation’s International Women’s Sports Hall of Fame.
