In life many of us have learned that whether we like it or not, there is little any of us can really do to avoid adversity in our lives. Sometimes it’s the little things like an annoying coworker, and sometimes its larger problems like financial insecurity, that induce worry and anxiety. Whatever the case may be, here are three tips to limit the amount of stress and relax.
Many problems we face are merely molehills that we’ve turned into mountains in our minds. Meditation is a great way to reduce stress by providing us with the opportunity to be still and quiet within ourselves, which is usually when we realize we had all the answers to our problems all along.
Focus on the positive
When we focus on everything going wrong in our lives, it limits our perspective and causes us to fall in a downward spiral. Rather than wallowing in self-pity, utilize that same energy to concentrate on what’s going well. It can make an enormous difference.
Let go of what you can’t control
How many of us have wasted time and energy trying to change people and circumstances that are completely out of our control? When we surrender and accept what is instead of trying to mold life to fit our expectations, we free ourselves of unnecessary grief, allowing ourselves to be open to our own joy and bliss.
