Cardi B is continuing to make her way to the top and she doesn’t plan on leaving anytime soon. She’s making history with her top hit single, “Bodak Yellow” as it made it’s mark as the first solo woman-fronted rap single to make it to the top of the Billboard’s Hot 100 Chart since Lauryn Hill’s 1998, “Doo Wop That Thing.”

Her lively, sassy personality has won the hearts of millions all over the world and we can’t get enough of her, which is why she is our Woman of Empowerment.

It wasn’t easy at first, after graduating from a performing arts high school, she enrolled into Borough of Manhattan Community College and took on a job at an Amish market to pay for her tuition. Although she wasn’t sure where she was headed in terms of a career, her high ambitions allowed her to keep her head held high throughout the process. She soon became well known in the city of New York and that gave her power like she never felt before! Cardi B reveals that stripping really saved her life, she was able to get out of an abusive relationship and like her music career now, it took no time for the star to become well known outside the city of New York.

Last night at the 2017 BET Hip-Hop Awards, Cardi B took the stage and performed her top hit, “Bodak Yellow.” On top of that, Cardi B also won, Hustler of the Year, Best New Artist, and Single of the Year.

Cardi B’s immaculate skills in being a social media enthusiast and her one of kind voice makes her who is and what she stands for. We can’t help but hold in respect for the star on her come up at such a young age.
