How long have you been in business?

I have been in business as a health coach for two years as of November 2017.

Why did you pick this particular field to do business in?

What inspired me to become a health coach was the loss of my husband in 2014. He died from a sudden heart attack. The death of my husband was devastating to both our children as well as our families. I wanted to help others improve their health and prolong their life. It has become a passion of mine to help my community to lead a healthy and active lifestyle. It brings me great joy to celebrate with my clients when they have accomplished one of many goals that we have set.

Do you mind telling us about a challenge you have faced in the business and how you have overcame it?

One of the biggest challenges I have faced was with my sponsor. We had a business relationship in the beginning. We  discussed different ideas to expand our business. As time went on, the conversations went from being positive to negative. My passion for helping people was fading rapidly and I had even considered giving up my career as a health coach. One thing I realized is if I gave up as a health coach, I was giving up on my community as well as myself. I couldn’t allow that to happen. Defeat was not an option for me. After giving my situation a lot of thought, I ultimately cut ties with my sponsor as well as anything else that what negative. I surround myself with positive people. I had to go back to the basics which included listening to personal development, and reaching out to other health coaches for support which helped me overcome wanting to quit.

Why do you feel you have been as successful as you have in your business?

My love for people and the results that we have accomplished together has helped with the success I have experienced thus far. My attitude in my business also plays a role in my success. Remaining coachable and accepting constructive criticism has definitely helped me in my business. As I continue to create a better version of myself, I become a better coach to my clients. Building long lasting relationships with my clients and forming bonds is important to my success. I take time out to check in with my clients through out the week. We celebrate together and we cry together. I am more than a health coach. I am my clients- keeper. When my clients succeed, as a coach I succeed as well.

Why are you so compelled on seeing other women win BIG?

I want to see women as a whole win! As women, we have a purpose to carry out and a legacy to leave for our younger generation. As a whole, we can empower one another and help the next woman reach her full potential. This enables us to lead the way for our younger generation of girls and show them what is possible. As women, we have to connect with one another instead of competing. There is enough success to go around for everyone! When we support one another in accomplishing our goals and achievements we all win!  In the words of Maya Angelo, “We are phenomenal!”

So, what’s next in 2018 for you?

In 2018, I am committed to helping more people get into the best shape of their lives as well as improve their health. I also want to build a strong organization with like-minded individuals who posses the same passion to help each person we come into contact with thus having a greater impact in our communities. Teach one is my motto going into 2018. My business partner and I are currently working together to execute our business plan for the upcoming year.

Do you mind sharing a fun fact about yourself?

I love to go zip lining in Las Vegas on Freemont Street when I visit.
