On a radiant spring afternoon, the iconic Maxwell House in Pasadena was transformed into a sanctuary of healing, elegance, and empowerment as StrongHome Network hosted the Rest and Relief Mother’s Day Brunch, a moving tribute to the resilience and grace of mothers impacted by California’s devastating wildfires. This intimate yet power-packed event brought together community, compassion, and celebration in honor of motherhood—specifically, mothers who have endured unimaginable loss yet continue to rise.

Founded by Melissa Reed and spearheaded by ambassador Apryl Jones, the StrongHome Network, a faith-based nonprofit, has become a beacon of hope for over 6,000 families across California, offering critical support through crisis relief, wellness services, economic empowerment, and community outreach. What began as a response to the escalating wildfire disasters has evolved into a mission rooted in restoration and resilience. This Mother’s Day, the organization brought their mission to life in an unforgettable way, by providing a Red Carpet Welcome, Premium Pampering, and Powerful Connection.

From the moment guests arrived, they were treated like royalty. A red carpet experience set the tone for a luxurious day of recognition and wellness. Inside, honorees enjoyed a beautifully curated brunch, complete with gourmet dishes, flowing mimosas, elegant décor, and heartfelt moments that made every mother feel celebrated.

Pampering activations included massages, nail services, lash extensions, and facials—all thoughtfully curated to provide these incredible women the rest and relief they so deeply deserve. The event was co-hosted by Apryl Jones, StrongHome Ambassador and actress, and Deanna Colón, actress and celebrity chef. Together, they brought warmth, humor, and heart to the occasion, creating an atmosphere of joy, celebration, and sisterhood.

Throughout the event, moments of inspiration were woven seamlessly into the celebration. This was done by  crafting a moving panel discussion featuring dynamic women who courageously shared their personal journeys of survival, healing, and triumph:

  • Shanice Wilson, Grammy-nominated singer of “I Love Your Smile” and breast cancer survivor, shared an emotional, soul-stirring testimony about her healing journey and the new version of herself after beating cancer. Her story brought the room to tears and reminded everyone of the beauty in transformation.
  • Cheyenne Floyd Davis, star of MTV’s Teen Mom OG, podcaster, and wellness advocate, spoke candidly about motherhood in the public eye and the importance of mental health.
  • Asiah Collins, entrepreneur, philanthropist, and wife of rapper Kid Ink, offered empowering insights into balancing business, motherhood, and purpose-driven living.

A highlight of the afternoon was the recognition of fire-affected mothers who received a VIP spotlight moment for their strength and perseverance. Through tears and applause, their stories will continue to serve as a poignant reminder of why StrongHome Network continues to fight for families across California.

These VIP’s, received a premium gift bag, preferred seating, and—more importantly—a moment to be seen, celebrated, and showered in love.

In every sense, the Rest and Relief Brunch was more than an event—it was a sanctuary. A heartfelt reminder that even in the aftermath of loss, beauty can bloom again.
