Acclaimed R&B singer, songwriter, and community champion Fred Reed unveils his highly anticipated new single, “Teach Me,” a soul-stirring ballad that explores the emotional depths of love, growth, and vulnerability.

A heartfelt plea for understanding and reconnection, “Teach Me” finds Reed yearning to better love his partner, asking her to show him the way. With its emotionally raw lyrics and smooth, melodic production, the track speaks to anyone who’s ever wrestled with the complexities of love.

“This song is about honesty,” says Reed. “It’s about admitting you don’t have all the answers in a relationship but being willing to learn.”

Raised in Riverside, Delaware, Reed’s passion for music was ignited early in life. Despite growing up in an environment marked by hardship, he found refuge in melody and storytelling.

Reed’s journey through music has been marked by major milestones. He has shared the stage with Mary J. Blige, 112, Run DMC, and the late Gerald LeVert, and his solo hits such as “Tug Of War” and “Roses” have helped establish him as a unique voice in contemporary R&B, blending classic soul with a modern edge.

Beyond the stage, Fred Reed is deeply committed to uplifting his community.

As the founder of Reeds Refuge Center, a Wilmington-based nonprofit, he provides a safe haven for youth and families affected by gun violence and drug abuse, while also promoting academic success and artistic expression.

“Through my music and my community work, I always tell young people to be original. There’s already a Meek Mill or a Beyoncé—but there’s only one you,” Reed shares.

In 2024, Reed collaborated with R&B icon Raheem DeVaughn on the soulful duet “Found You,” marking a pivotal moment in his artistic journey and showcasing his ability to blend seamlessly with other celebrated talents.

Now, with “Teach Me” climbing the charts since its April 2025 release, Reed continues to prove why he’s a voice to watch in today’s R&B landscape.

The forthcoming album will delve deeper into the many dimensions of love—from joy and intimacy to conflict and growth.
