Fast-rising pop/R&B singer Chrissy Spratt has shared the video for “In Too Deep,”  the bubbling lead single from her forthcoming debut EP due out this August.

The intimate “In Too Deep” video was directed by Pierre Marais, an actor and singer currently starring in the Broadway play Sunset Blvd, and choreographed by Justice Moore, whose credits include Tyla, Doja Cat, Hamilton as well as the aforementioned Sunset Blvd.

An infectious blend of R&B and pop hooks, “In Too Deep” was produced by Miami-based Daramola, whose credits include “Imaginate” by Danny Ocean and Kapo, which recently topped Billboard’s Latin Pop airplay chart for seven consecutive weeks.

A rising star in her native Canada, Chrissy Spratt became a viral sensation in West Africa after fans on her Instagram and TikTok pages encouraged her to cover Afrobeats hits like “Cough (Odo)” by Kizz Daniel, leading to co-signs from some of Africa’s biggest stars, including Kizz Daniel, Davido, and Tiwa Savage, and a massive spike to her social media following in region.

Spratt will release her as-yet untitled EP via Canada-based music company Hi-Way Entertainment, home to artists including South African DJ Chelsea Sloan and emerging Nigerian Afrobeats star Siraheem. The project includes production from Tejiri, the Grammy-winning producer behind Tems’ “Higher”; Nonso Amadi; and Canadian songwriting team Coleman Hell and La+ch. Fans can catch her live this August and September with afrobeats star Chike, opening dates for his Canadian tour.

For the “In Too Deep” video, Spratt says she was looking to try something different and outside of her comfort zone when she reached out to Moore about choreographing the clip. “I’ve never really danced in my videos so I thought this would be a good way to challenge myself and show a different side of me.”
