The ceremony was stacked with icons: Big Boy hosted, while LL Cool J, Big Daddy Kane, and Chuck D delivered powerful tributes that highlighted Busta’s impact on music, culture, and the genre as a whole. Their words set the tone for what became an emotional moment when Busta took the mic. Fighting back tears, he reflected on the three-and-a-half decades of hustle that led to this milestone, saying, “I’ve worked 35 years for this.”

Music industry powerhouses Sylvia Rhone and Mona Scott-Young were also in attendance, showing their support for an artist whom they’ve personally helped and looked out for. Joyner Lucas, a close collaborator of Busta’s, and media personality Jason Lee were among the many who came out to witness history.

The vibe was celebratory and full of love — a perfect backdrop to honor a man whose larger-than-life energy, rapid-fire flow, and unmatched consistency have left an indelible mark on music. From Flipmode to Hollywood Boulevard, Busta Rhymes has proven he’s not just a hip-hop icon — he’s a legend forever cemented in the streets of L.A.
