Scarlip held an epic event this summer with her first sold-out SummerFest this year in Brooklyn. The rapper who went viral with her Runaway Love Freestyle with Grammy-winner Mary J. Blige in June, sampling her 2009 song Runaway Love with Grammy-winning rapper Ludacris. The song is part of a new seven-track mixtape, “Scarred B4 Fame,” that dropped on June 20th earlier this summer, which features Grammy-winning rapper Lil Wayne, Grammy-winning R&B singer Anthony Hamilton, and new rapper Honey Bxby. It also features her viral hit, “Melanin.”

Now she is expanding out to her fans with her 2025 SummerFest. The event was officially announced back in July on Scarlip’s official Instagram, IG@scar_lip. The event was officially announced by the rapper that the date of the SummerFest was August 15th, 2025, in Brooklyn at Pacific Brooklyn, New York, located at 1065 Pacific Street. The concert tickets were for purchase through a link on her Instagram or by scanning the QR code on her Instagram posts.

On August 8th, Scarlip announced on her Instagram an official giveaway for free tickets at Harlem Reggae Sun Delights Juice Bar located at 227 West 145th Street. Fans came out to meet Scarlip and get free tickets to the event. The line was packed and went down the block as Scarlip came out to meet her fans and take photos and videos with them. After the ticket giveaway, Scarlip took the time to meet her fans and record a TikTok with them for her social media.

On August 15th, SummerFest came into play as the event was an indoor and outdoor event. The outdoor event had soul and Jamaican food for sale, catered by Ms. Higlyfaloredsoulfood and drinks on sale by Black and Female Owned, Elegance on Ice Mobile Bar IG@eleganceonicemobilebar, and a clothing boutique, including the indoor bar provided by Pacific Brooklyn. There was also a Black-Owned Jovia Love Clothing Boutique, IG@jovia_love_boutique, that sold plus-size clothing and lingerie for partyers for no more than $20.

The high-energy show started with showcasing new talent in hip-hop from New York and all over the U.S. The show‘s host was Comedian, IG@waveys_world, who announced each talent on stage. One of the many highlighted new artists, Bronx-based rapper Jay Luciano, IG@therealjayluciano, had the crowd turning over with her first live performance of his viral hit “Whine”. He came on stage with Scarlip and performed his viral hit.

He will follow up with this performance with his first official music video shoot on August 22nd in Crotona Park in the Bronx with Chp Has, IG@chp_has, and Asot Bengii, IG@adoltbenjii.

After Luciano exited the stage, Scarface took the stage with DJ Suss One, IG@djsussone, and performed “Melanin”, “This Is New York”, “Eastside”, and “No Statement”, telling the audience, “I don’t mix pussy with business!”. She next introduced the next hot act, which was a new rapper, Blazen, IG: @iamblazen, who performed her viral TikTok hit “DOE,” which is now available on all major music platforms. Scarlip told Blazen, “I’m so proud of you!” after her performance.

The next act was rapper BreezLYN, IG@officialbreezylyn, who performed her viral smash hit “Bad Bitches.” Then, rapper Tesehki, IG@tesehki, took over the stage and performed her viral hit “Push Ya Wig Back!” Finally, rapper and the Queen of Zeus, Rollie, IG@rolliepolliexoxo, performed a freestyle.

Other acts that took the stage were rap group 14 Mafia, IG@14mafia_, with the three band members Whou Whou, IG@whouwhou14, Chop No Lays, IG@chipdma, and Tay Da Messiah, IG@taydamessiah. Other independent artists to take the Summer Fest stage were Brooklyn-based Ghostwriter/ Rapper Rayche (IG@rayche718), Rapper Sha M (IG@_shamula, Philadelphia-based rapper ATOWN (IG@atown_0705offical, Actress/Artist Za $Mula (IG@za_mula, and Rapper Bri Baise (IG@bribiase.

The show started closing heading into midnight, where Scarlip took the time to talk to her fans and posed for photos. Many fans praised Scarlip for showcasing so much talent and for how much fun the show was. She took a moment outside Pacific Brooklyn filming videos for her social media, saying, “We shut it down and we’re outside!”

Scarlip is expanding her interest in new talent with the announcement of her label, Broken Children Entertainment LLC, an exclusive license to Epic Records and Sony Music Entertainment.

On August 17th, Scarlip will be heading to Atlanta for the Coochie Splash Pool Party. Scarlip has many upcoming events this summer and will post updates and opportunities to work with the rapper on her Instagram stories. She is taking her mark in music in 2025, turning her pain into her successful glory.
