Deadline has just reported that the writer and producer behind the hit series, black-ish, Kenya Barris is developing a new series inside the show’s original universe.
In his statement, Barris said, “We’re brewing it, yeah. It’s something I’m really super excited about. Yeah, we’re brewing it, and hopefully it gets done and adds to that world in a really special way.”
Spinoffs are nothing new to Barris. Actress, Yara Shahidi leads the spinoff Grown-ish and there is a prequel titled, Mixed-ish, which stars Tika Sumpter.
Back in 2018, Barris left ABC in order to pursue new projects with Netflix. His controversal show on the popular streaming service, #blackAF was just renewed for season two.
