With a career rooted in amplifying meaningful stories, Dunivan has long been a quiet architect behind some of the most influential institutions in Black culture. Her work harnesses the power of video not only to elevate voices but to shape narratives that deeply resonate across generations.

Dunivan’s legacy began with BET’s iconic 106 & Park, where her journey came full circle—starting as a member of the show’s debut audience and rising to become a pivotal producer throughout its evolution. Her impact expanded behind the scenes as she produced red carpet specials for BET and the Soul Train Awards, crafting unforgettable cultural moments that bridged entertainment and identity.

Her most recent chapter as Vice President of Video at Essence underscored her vision and influence. There, she served as Executive Producer of the critically acclaimed Black Women in Hollywood event—an annual celebration of Black excellence. Under her creative direction, the event honored trailblazers likeCynthia Erivo, Teyana Taylor, Raamla Ali, and the legendary Marla Gibbs, setting new standards for representation and reverence in media.

In 2025, Dunivan embarked on a new journey by launching her own creative agency, Ruby Shoe Creative—a venture defined by authenticity, intention, and purpose. Her debut project made immediate waves: a revival of 106 & Park for its 25th anniversary during BET Awards 2025. The tribute sparked viral moments, including a comedic, nostalgic recreation of Ginuwine’s unforgettable performance by Druski, earning widespread acclaim for blending humor with homage.

Now, as Dunivan steps into a new role shaping video strategy for the historic Apollo Theater during its landmark year-long renovation, she continues her legacy of cultural stewardship. With each project, she brings not only creative excellence but a deep commitment to preserving and evolving the stories that define our time.
