Essence Festival 2025 was nothing short of iconic, but one of its most unforgettable moments took place at the “Women in Harmony” celebration, a powerful gathering that honored more than 300 trailblazers in music, culture, activism, and beauty. Held in the heart of New Orleans, the event paid special tribute to two groundbreaking women: Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett and the legendary Patti LaBelle.
The atmosphere was electric as guests from across the country came together to celebrate women who are changing the world and shaping the future. Women in Harmony served as more than just an awards gathering; it was a cultural moment of gratitude, sisterhood, and glamor.
The star-studded event featured a luxurious beauty lounge, where attendees indulged in complimentary glam services. From flawless makeup to touch-up stations and skincare activations, the lounge created the perfect moment for self-care and celebration. It was a true embodiment of beauty, inside and out.
Hollywood royalty and cultural icons showed up in style. Lynn Whitfield graced the scene with elegance, while Marlo Hampton turned heads in a fashion-forward ensemble. The room buzzed with powerful Black excellence as influential women from across industries shared their stories, networked, and uplifted one another.
Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett was celebrated for her unapologetic leadership and fearless advocacy on Capitol Hill, while Patti LaBelle, the Godmother of Soul, was honored for her timeless impact on music and culture. Both women received standing ovations as they reminded everyone in the room that power, purpose, and perseverance are the true pillars of success.
As Essence Fest continues to be a cultural cornerstone for Black women, the Women in Harmony event added a deeper layer of meaning, highlighting the legacies being built now and the ones that paved the way.
From beauty to brilliance, sisterhood to celebration, this event was a moment we won’t forget, powered by the National Urban Women’s League.
