Held ahead of the show’s anticipated premiere, the event set the tone for what audiences can expect; raw honesty, bold characters, and relatable journeys.
Hosted by media personality Jazzy McBee, the panel featured cast members Khadeen Ellis, Porscha Coleman, Jennifer Sears, and Briana Nicole, each offering personal insight and on-set perspective on their roles.
Khadeen Ellis, who plays Geneva, spoke candidly about how Divorced Sistas taps into the emotional realities many women face when navigating life after marriage. “There’s pain, but there’s also peace,” she shared, adding that her character reflects the often unseen moments of growth that come with letting go.
Porscha Coleman (Naomi) added her vibrant energy, recalling moments from filming that mirrored real-life relationship lessons. “We’ve all had to start over, this show just lets you do it in heels,” she joked.
Meanwhile, Jennifer Sears (Bridgette) and Briana Nicole (Tiffany) leaned into themes of balance, identity, and sisterhood. The conversation touched on how career and motherhood often collide with personal healing and how the cast found solace both in their characters and each other.
The chemistry between the ladies was undeniable,echoing the bond their characters share on the series. They spoke about the importance of telling stories that reflect real Black women navigating transitions, growth, and the unexpected joy that follows heartbreak.
Divorced Sistas officially premiered June 9 on BET, with streaming available on BET+. The series is positioned as a raw and refreshing extension of Perry’s hit Sistas universe,offering a new lens on love, friendship, and second chances. Tyler Perry has once again created a series around the voice of black women navigating different stages in their lives, this time the series is about sisterhood and healing after saying “I do!”.
