Metro Boomin is bringing the fun—and the power—back to Atlanta’s music scene in a way only he can. His latest offering, A Futuristic Summa, is a 24-track, two-disc album hosted by DJ Spinz that unites the city’s past, present, and future on one cultural masterpiece. Featuring collaborations across an entire era of Atlanta music, Metro blends nostalgia with futuristic energy to deliver a sound that’s both local and global.

Taking to social media, he revealed key features from Atlanta legends and new wave stars alike: Young Thug, Future, T.I., Yung L.A., J Money, 21 Savage, Waka Flocka, 2 Chainz, Shop Boyz, Mercy Beatz, Zaytoven, and many more. The message is clear—this is an album for Atlanta, by Atlanta, but crafted so the world can appreciate its brilliance.

In recent years, the music industry has struggled to recapture the star power and originality that once defined it. But A Futuristic Summa arrives at the perfect moment to remind us why Atlanta has always set the tone in hip hop. From its infectious club anthems to culture-defining street records, ATL isn’t just back—it never left.

A Star-Studded DJ Appreciation Party Lights Up the City

To preview the album, Metro hosted a private DJ Appreciation Party at Copper Cove in Buckhead, Atlanta. What was meant to be an invite-only event for DJ collectives and music insiders quickly turned into a who’s who of Atlanta hip hop. The venue was packed wall-to-wall with fans, influencers, DJs, and surprise celebrity guests eager to hear the album first.

Represented in the building were powerhouse organizations like Coalition DJs, alongside tastemakers and media giants. Some of the artists who pulled up to celebrate included Young Dro, Skooly, Rich Kids, Roscoe Dash, Travis Porter, DJ Plugg, and Quavo, who also contributed to the album. Atlanta’s respected tastemakers and influencers were also in the mix—Baby Jade, DJ Pretty Boy Tank, Teseki of Baddies, Khaotic, NgBdon, and more. The room overflowed with pride and purpose as the project echoed through the speakers, proving once again how music can bring generations together.

The album’s artwork is just as striking as its sound, featuring Metro illustrated in braids, shades, and an American flag bandana, posed next to a retro muscle car against a lit-up ATL skyline. The visual sets the tone for a high-powered summer filled with block parties, car shows, concerts, and club nights.

A Tribute to Young Scooter: Heartfelt and Symbolic

While the night was about celebrating Atlanta’s sound, it also held space for remembrance. Metro paid tribute to the late Young Scooter, keeping an American flag close throughout the rollout of this project. The bandana, worn across his face in a now-iconic photo before his passing, became a symbol of love and remembrance. Many attendees, including Metro himself, wore similar flags during the event, honoring Scooter’s legacy in ATL street culture and music.

Atlanta Never Lost It—The World Just Needed Reminding

With A Futuristic Summa, Metro has done more than drop an album—he’s reset the culture. He’s reminded the industry that Atlanta is the blueprint, the pulse, and the party. Whether it’s a skating rink, day party, trap concert, or festival, Atlanta continues to shape the soundtrack of real life.

As Metro brings together all sides of the city—from OGs to new legends—it’s clear that this summer belongs to the South. And from the looks (and sounds) of it, A Futuristic Summa will live far beyond the season.

The album will be available on all platforms starting August 1st. If you missed this memorable moment in the culture, don’t worry—you can still be part of the movement. Get connected by streaming A Futuristic Summa, released under Republic Records and crafted by the genius of Metro Boomin.
