Alexandria Fuller for Sheen on the Scene:

Let me start by saying, sharing a space with these iconic women was nothing short of surreal. These women have helped shape many young girls and women to become powerful, bold and unapologetically unique. Having the opportunity to ask questions about their art, their legacy, and this powerful new collaboration was an honor that will never be forgotten.

These aren’t just actresses, they are culture shapers and generational voices.
Trailblazers who made space often when there was none to show us what was possible.
Operation: Aunties, premiering July 11 on ALLBLK, is bold, hilarious, action-packed, and deeply rooted in community and sisterhood. The film follows Dr. Carol Cleavers (Melissa De Sousa), a professor and blockchain expert, her ride-or-die best friend, retired detective Sharon O’Hara (Tisha Campbell), and her tech-savvy niece Aminah (Amiyah Scott) as they take justice into their own hands, becoming modern-day vigilantes determined to dismantle a dark web trafficking ring after it hits close to home.

Directed by Emmy Award-winning actress and producer Wendy Raquel Robinson, Operation: Aunties is more than just a thrilling film. It’s a reflection of something bigger: a powerful shift in Black media.
A shift away from outdated tropes and trauma-centered storytelling toward narratives where Black women are seen as the multifaceted beings we are. It’s a doorway to showcasing the different iterations of Black womanhood, brilliant, bold, vulnerable, tech-savvy, hilarious, and heroic.
Operation: Aunties is a celebration of capable Black women solving high-stakes problems with intellect, innovation, and unshakable sisterhood. It’s heart. It’s humor. It’s power. And it’s right on time.
