From luxury at Renaissance Dallas North Hotel to karaoke nights at Daqs and Oxtails, plus date night steak and a little Pilates in between this Dallas trip was the perfect mix of rest, richness, and real Black girl joy.

A Weekend in Dallas That Fed My Soul… and My Plate

Listen sometimes you just need a weekend where the food is seasoned, the hotel bed is plush, and the vibes feel like a warm hug from your favorite auntie. Dallas understood the assignment, and let me tell you, I soaked up every bit of it. Whether you’re planning a girls’ trip, date weekend, or a quick escape for you and your mama Dallas did not disappoint.

Renaissance Dallas North Hotel – Where Comfort Meets Crawfish Fondue

Let’s start with the Renaissance Dallas North Hotel. Conveniently located close to the airport, this spot is perfect if you’re flying in and want to drop your bags, throw on your bonnet, and relax quick.

Now let’s talk food because this hotel didn’t come to play. That crawfish fondue at breakfast? Baby. Creamy, flavorful, and packed with that Louisiana kick we all know and love. I was truly tempted to ask for the recipe. The rooms are modern and clean, and the overall energy is sleek but inviting a soft luxury vibe that’s perfect for the Black traveler looking for ease and elegance.

Steak, Style, and Salad Bar Goals at 12Cuts

Now when I say I was fed well in Dallas? I’m not playing. 12Cuts Brazilian Steakhouse gave me my whole life. It’s giving “date night with your person” or “treat-yourself dinner for grown women who deserve.”

The salad bar alone is high-end like, imported cheeses, artisan breads, roasted veggies kind of salad bar. But then the meat starts coming, and baby, you’ll want to pace yourself. From juicy lamb chops to tender cuts of picanha, I left full and happy. Great atmosphere, even better service.

Friday Nights Are for Daqs, Oxtails, and Karaoke with the Culture

If you don’t hit Daqs and Oxtails while in Dallas, did you even go?

Friday night karaoke was the kind of joyful, soulful fun that only Black folks can bring. We laughed, we sang, and then we ate. Let me tell you, them turkey necks? Tender. Juicy. Falling-off-the-bone goodness. The oxtails? Meaty and seasoned to perfection. Pair that with a frozen daiquiri that tastes like summer on your tongue, and you’ve got a recipe for a night to remember.

Southern Gourmet Kitchen – Comfort Food That Hits Every Time

I needed something a little more family-style the next day, so I hit up Southern Gourmet Kitchen. And whew the food was soulful. The green egg rolls? Let me pause. Stuffed with greens and served with a homemade sauce that had me licking my fingers. The catfish was flaky, the cabbage was flavorful, and the hospitality felt like you were eating in somebody’s stylish home.

Views, Vibes & Fine Dining at Crown Block Dallas

When you’re ready to feel fancy and feed your inner baddie, Crown Block Dallas is the place. Located high above the city, the views alone are worth the reservation. But it’s not just about aesthetics the food was top-tier, the customer service was impeccable, and every bite felt like a celebration. Perfect for birthdays, anniversaries, or if you just like to celebrate life in style.

A Little Movement & A Lot of Laughter to Close the Trip

To balance out all that good eatin’, I got in a solid, empowering session at Reformed Pilates. The space was beautiful, and the workout? Challenging but accessible. Black girls doing Pilates? Yes ma’am, we out here.

And to end the weekend on a fun and active note, I hit up The Golf Club of Dallas for a little golf tournament with the girls. Whether you’re a beginner or you’ve got your Tiger Woods swing down, it’s a relaxing, fun way to wind down and soak up that Texas sun.

Final Thoughts: Dallas Gave Soft Life with Soulful Energy

From luxe hotels and high-end dining to karaoke and comfort food that heals, Dallas delivered. This weekend was a reminder that you don’t have to travel far to feel full physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Whether you’re pulling up for a solo trip, girls’ getaway, or just a quick escape from the everyday, Dallas is where the culture, the comfort, and the crawfish fondue meet.
