The Childcare Cartel is a bold, refreshing addition to reality television, centered around
entrepreneurship, empowerment, and the unfiltered realities of businesswomen navigating the childcare industry. The cast members of the show include Sherri J. White (@sherrijlovely),
Keisha “Starr” Archer (@thestagebystarr), Janaya Burke (@naya_beauty), and Sydney
Jordan (@sydneyxchere). Representing SHEEN, I had the pleasure of stepping behind the
scenes to interview several cast members who opened up about their journeys, ambitions, and
what audiences can expect once the cameras start rolling.
At the center of the show is Executive Producer and creator, Sherri J. White, a powerhouse in
the childcare space who has built over 10 daycares, currently owning three. A visionary and
business mogul, Sherri is committed to helping other women start their own daycare businesses.
“Being a creative and a CEO go hand-in-hand for me,” she shared. “The kids are depending on
you to be creative, and that’s what drives and inspires me.” Sherri also hopes the show leaves a legacy for Black women in reality TV, stating: “There’s a way for us to come together, without having to go overboard.” She describes her empire in three words: innovative, disruptive, and fly.
Cast member Janaya Burke, Sherri’s daughter, is following in her mother’s footsteps while
blazing her own trail. As the owner of Belle Lux Day Spa and soon-to-be daycare center owner,
Janaya brings both beauty and business to the screen. She emphasizes that reality TV has yet to highlight the grit and hustle behind the childcare business. “Reality TV is missing The Childcare Cartel!” she shares. “People don’t often see the hard work that goes into this, but I’m excited for them to see how busy and driven I am.”
Another standout cast member is Starr, owner of Star Kidz Academy One, with Star Kidz
Academy Two on the horizon. For Starr, her ‘why’ is all about building and leaving a legacy. “I
want to make sure my kids have a building they can benefit from, even if they choose a different path. It’s about securing residual income and options.” She also emphasizes that the show is rooted in support, not drama. “When people watch, they’ll see we’re not tearing each other down.
It’s all about us uplifting one another.”
The evening also featured remarks from Melody Shari (@melodyshari), the show’s moderator
and an award-winning TV producer, recording artist, and author. Melody emphasized the
importance of authenticity in reality TV. “As long as The Childcare Cartel stays real and
authentic, it’s going to be a success,” she said. “People want to see what they can relate to. If we wanted to watch scripted TV, we’d go do that. There’s a reason reality TV exists.” She also
offered heartfelt advice for her younger self: “Your dreams are possible. You can do it. Just be mindful of the company you keep around you.”
As The Childcare Cartel prepares to make its official television debut, it’s clear this show will
be more than just entertainment; it’s a movement. With an inspiring cast, a powerful message, and real stories from women making a difference in an often-overlooked industry, viewers are in for something truly special!
Stay tuned and be on the lookout because The Childcare Cartel is coming, and it’s redefining what it means to build, lead, and inspire!
