Sheen Magazine pulled up to CAU about seven or eight and was deep in the scene with a few BEL AIR greats. They sat on the panel, to talk about how, season two of BEL AIR, was about to go down.

Bri Harmon, account manager for HBCU BUZZ, a platform that brings awareness to all historical Black college and university related information, recently curated a conversation with a few members of the royal family of Peacocks Bel Air. During Alpha week at Clark Atlanta University, students of all majors had their wide range of questions answered with outstanding insight from the cast.

The panel was hosted by socialite and SOULFULL Bowls Founder, Paige Shari delving into the second chapter of the Smiths, the Banks and their family’s journey in overall healing, the ebb and flow of mental health, the highs and lows of their romantic and platonic relationships, the advancement of their political affairs, the arts, and academics, all set in the paradise of Californ-IA.

Season One of Bel-Air had cameos from the Fresh Prince’s bonus Aunt Viv, Daphne Maxwell Reid and Vernee Watson-Johnson, OG Aunt Vy. Other notable faces that popped up and more than likely will recur in Bel Air during its inaugural season, were Marlon Wayans, Duane Martin, Karrueche Tran and Michael Ealy. In Season Two, you will see OG Ashley, the iconic Tatyana Ali return to LA, as well as rapper Saweetie and actress, Riele Downs.

Carlton played by Naija boy, Olly Sholotan says, “The writers carry the show and the characters spread their wings and soar in season two,” and he can neither confirm nor deny if Carlton will debut his signature dance moves, but we will be on the lookout and tik-tok ready. The regal Cassandra Freeman who fully epitomizes Aunt Viv says, “Stop apologizing and be you on purpose.” Showrunner, executive producer, and writer Carla Banks Waddles, wants you to “Let go of what doesn’t serve you and hold on to what does.” They all emphasize that while the show is not the thirty-minute sitcom that Fresh Prince fans are used to, it is a full hour of drama and dynamism, wrapped in love in Bel Air.
