THE ANNUAL BLACK MUSIC AND ENTERTAINMENT WALK OF FAME

ATLANTA, GA- In an unforgettable afternoon of impact, elegance, and celebration, the Black Music and Entertainment Walk of Fame hosted its annual ceremony at the luxurious Thompson hotel in Buckhead, Atlanta. Sponsors included Atlanta Luxury Maserati, BMI, and the Georgia Black Entertainment Caucus. 

The star-studded event brought together some of the most prominent names in the entertainment industry to honor three incredible inductees: Danny Glover, Dr. Bobby Jones, and Ambassador Andrew Young.

The ceremony marked the perfect end to an incredible Black History Month, as celebrities from all over the world gathered to celebrate the contributions of these remarkable individuals. Will Packer, Pastor Jamal Bryant, and Killer Mike were just a few of the many guests who graced the occasion with their presence.

For years, Danny Glover has been a trailblazer in the entertainment industry. His performances have touched the hearts of millions of people, and his activism has inspired countless others to join the fight for social justice. As he stood before the crowd, the honor of being inducted into the Black Music and Entertainment Walk of Fame was evident on his face.

Dr. Bobby Jones, a legend in gospel music, has been a source of inspiration for countless individuals for over four decades. His impact on the gospel music industry is undeniable, and his commitment to spreading the message of faith and hope is something to be celebrated.

Ambassador Andrew Young has been a tireless advocate for civil rights and equality for over five decades. He has served as a member of Congress, the Mayor of Atlanta, and the US Ambassador to the United Nations. His contributions to society have been immeasurable, and his induction into the Black Music and Entertainment Walk of Fame was a well-deserved recognition of his incredible achievements.

As the afternoon progressed, guests enjoyed incredible live performances and words of encouragement by Killer Mike , who gave the crowd an impactful address in honor of Ambassador Andrew Young. Ambassador Young spoke of his pure intentions of creating a safer world for us all, but especially for his home of Atlanta and the fellow trailblazers that aided in building his  unwavering legacy.

“I don’t know why I’m here, but I’m here, and in life you learn that you don’t waste time, you figure out how to make the best of your time “ 

Dallas Austin, Will Packer, and other celebrities took to the stage to pay tribute to the inductees and celebrate the achievements of the black entertainment industry as a whole.

In a one-on-one interview with Sheen Magazine, Killer Mike spoke about the impact of the black music, film, and entertainment industry on the city of Atlanta. He emphasized how the industry has helped to polish the talents of countless individuals, and as an industry we are obligated to continue pouring into the communities that keep the city growing.

“Whether it’s education, infrastructure, or business, Atlanta is a hub for Black talent and this industry for 125 years has polished the careers of countless individuals that continue to pour into the city. And I hope to see it for a hundred years more”

The Black Music and Entertainment Walk of Fame ceremony was a testament to the incredible achievements of the black entertainment industry. It was an evening of empowerment, inspiration, and celebration, and it served as a reminder of the importance of recognizing and celebrating the achievements of black individuals in all industries. 

We look forward to seeing who the next inductees will be, and to continuing to celebrate the incredible contributions of black individuals to our society.
