CNN reports that Cardi B has pledged to cover the funeral expenses for at least 17 people that died on Jan 9 in a Bronx high-rise fire – described as one of the deadliest fires New York City has seen.
In a recently released statement, Cardi B expressed her concern stating, “When I heard about the fire and all of the victims, I knew I needed to do something to help.” She continued, “I cannot begin to imagine the pain and anguish that the families of the victims are experiencing, but I hope that not having to worry about the costs associated with burying their loved ones will help as they move forward and heal. I send my prayers and condolences to everyone affected by this horrific tragedy.”
The rapper and the Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City have joined together to make sure the victims’ families are included in the donation.
