This just in! If you’re on your toes waiting for the premiere of the sequel of Coming 2 America then we’ve got great news for you.

Variety has reported that Eddie Murphy and Paramount Pictures are currently in the process of selling the classic film to Amazon Studios for $125. The sequel is set to become avaliable for streaming the week before Christmas.

With COVID-19 heavily impacting movie theaters around the world, the streaming method would be the best option for the film to enhance viewership.

Coming to America is a romantic comedy that hit the scene back in 1988. It features a young African prince, Akeem (portrayed by Eddie Murphy) and his servant Semmi (portrayed by Arsenio Hall) on their journey to New York to find Akeem a wife.

We know that in the second film, Prince Akeem discovers he is a father! The journey then begins with Akeem’s father (portrayed by James Earl Jones) announcing his wish to make his grandson a Prince.

Many stars that appeared in the original film will return to the sequel including Sheri Headley, John Amos, and many more!
