One of the happiest moments of a women’s life, besides the birth of their first child, is their wedding day because it that something all girls dream about. Most known for her role in “Orange Is the New Black,” actress Danielle Brooks recently married her love Dennis Gelin in Miami. The stunning bride took to social media to share the photos from her special day.
She posted a series of photos from her wedding on her Instagram page with the caption, “I’z married now! š” and gave a special shoutout to designers and the rest of the crew, “The absolute best to work with: HIRE THEM!!”
Danielle received many congratulations and kind words from members of the entertainment and music community.

Danielle not only looked flawless on her wedding day, her bridal gowns definitely turned a lot of heads!! During an interview with “Vogue,” she shared that she has known from day one that she wanted to wear two dresses for her special day. The actress wore a custom three-in-one dress designed by Christian Siriano, her close friend. The dress went from a princess gown to a body-con dress to a pants look. “We thought it would be best to do a first look reveal so that we could go ahead with bridal party pictures and not hold up our guests after the ceremony,” she stated. She continued, “I decided to wear Christian Siriano for the reveal. We have been friends ever since my career first began.”
She also wore a beautiful bespoke gown with nude lace and white sequined floral detailing on her wedding day, designed by Alonuko, a UK-based, Black-owned brand created by Nigerian designer Gbemi Okunlola. On Instagram and in her exclusive with “Vogue,” Danielle emphasized how important it was for a Black designer to design one of her wedding dresses. “I feel like when it comes to the wedding process, Black creatives aren’t highlighted enough. Alonuko gave me the dress of my dreams. She flew all the way from London to make sure it arrived,” she stated. “I knew I wanted her one-of-a-kind, flesh-toned mesh with custom embroidery and a big huge skirt. Wearing her dress made me want to get married every day. I loved it so much.”
