An oily beaut’s nightmare is seeing the oil on their face seek through the makeup throughout the day.

I can’t tell you how many “matte foundations” I have tried over the years. It’s quite embarrassing to admit but I will say that through trial and error, I have found some of the best for my specific skin type (oily).

There is a lot that goes into finding the best foundation for you. I know for myself, I look for one that will keep the shine off my face, create a flawless appearance, and most of all non-dewy.

I’ve narrowed down the list of foundations I have to share with you what I believe will help you if you too have oily skin.

Check out my favorites below and why I love them. Be sure to let me know what your favorite matte foundation is in the comments below.

This foundation has been my tride and true for years. To start off, I love that the brand offers it in 56 shades! In addition, it is full-coverage and will hide any blemishes you may have on the face. I personally do not like to use this foundation when I know I will be taking photos because there is a flashback, but for an everyday look – I think this foundation is absolutely perfect. It does such a great job of creating a smooth canvas on the face.

L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation, $13

I love this affordable matte foundation from the drugstore. I always find myself going back to it. The smallest amount is needed and it is seriously so smooth on the face. I love the amount of coverage it gives. For a girl always on the go, this foundation has been great to me because I can quickly apply it with my fingers and know that it will still stay in place all day long.

Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation, $35

Do I really even need to explain/ This foundation from Fenty Beauty actually paved the way for many beauty brands out there. When released, they provided so many foundation shades proving that yes, any beauty brand can be inclusive. I love that the formula is not cakey at all and it does not let any ounce of oil peek through on the face. It’s also proven to be heat resistant and fights back against heat during the hot summer months.

Huda Beauty #FauxFilter Full Coverage Matte Foundation, $40

This foundation has been fairly new to me but that does not mean that it hasn’t quickly become one of my favorites. It’s been doing wonders for my winter skin! It is super lightweight while matte and creates that airbrush finish on the face that I’m obsessed with.

Clinique Stay Matte Oil-Free Foundation, $31

An oldie but a goodie! I love a good oil-free foundation for obvious reasons but I like the fact that this foundation does not crease in the fine lines of my face. It is super buildable and provides a full-coverage appearance on the face.
