On January 21, People Magazine confirmed the passing of Regina King’s only child, Ian Alexander, Jr, after receiving a statement that reads: “Our family is devastated at the deepest level by the loss of Ian. He is such a bright light who cared so deeply about the happiness of others. Our family asks for respectful consideration during this private time. Thank you.”
Since then, many have reached out to show their support for Regina and her family. Loni Love posted on Instagram, “I met Ian at @sherrieshepherd’s birthday bash.. he catered the event. Cooked and served all the food, and it was delicious!!!! Such a sweet and talented young man… Rest In Peace.”

Ian reportedly died by suicide just days after his 26th birthday. We send our love and condolences to Regina King and her family.
