Sunday night’s Veruz Battle (September 13), between Gladys Knight and Patti LaBelle was so iconic and amazing. Not to mention, the amazing moments where you felt like your mother or grandmother was talking to you and sharing so much wisdom that had been passed down to them. The battle between the two music legends was live from the stage of The Fillmore in Patti’s hometown of Philadelphia. Many members from the music and entertainment industry tuned in for this amazing celebration of two of music’s greats. Some of the celebs included Michelle Obama, Mariah Carey, Jennifer Lopez, Kerry Washington, Oprah Winfrey, Missy Elliot, Jill Scott, Octavia Spencer, Questlove, Lena Waithe, Alicia Keys and Whoopi Goldberg just to name a few.
Both of the R&B legends were an awe from the love they received and are extremely grateful to everyone who tuned in to witness this iconic musical moment. The two singers took to social media to share their thoughts on this incredible event. Gladys posted a photo on her Instagram page with the caption, “Last night was absolutely amazing! Thank you all for joining me and my girl @mspattilabelle for our #verzuz! A night of musical celebration with @applemusic @verzuztv!!!”. Many members from the music and entertainment joined in for this amazing celebration of two of music’s greats.
Singer Michelle Willians left this comment. “Simply marvelous!!!!!! Love was just oozing!!!!”. One fan couldn’t agree more with Michelle and replied to the sweet comment saying, “@michellewilliams yesss. Award winning Gospel singer, Yolanda Adams comment under the post. “PHENOMENAL!!!! Patti also posted a photo on her Instagram page with the caption,

Shortly after Sunday’s battle between the two queens, award-winning hit producer Timbaland shared a post about the event.
He posted a video clip on his Instagram page with the caption,
One of the most magical moments of the night was when legendary award winning singer, Dionne Warwick who looked absolutely stunning dressed in white came out to join the two as they sang Gladys hit song, “That’s What Friends Are For” as well as Patti’s classics “You Are My Friend” and “If Only You Knew.” Finally, the three singing legends closed out the evening with a beautiful cover of songstress Karyn White’s hit single “Superwoman.”
This Verzuz will most definitely be one that many people as well members of the music and entertainment world remember for many years.
