Fans worldwide are remembering the icon who passed away on Aug. 8.

Singer and legendary actress Olivia Newton-John has passed away after a long battle with breast cancer, Yahoo Entertainment reports. The news broke today (Aug.8) of her death on her official Facebook page by her husband, John Easterling.

The post states that Newton-John, 73, passed away serenely at her Ranch in Southern California, surrounded by family and friends. It also asks for privacy, and the family would like any donations to be made in her memory to the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund.

“Olivia has been a symbol of triumphs and hope for over 30 years, sharing her journey with breast cancer. Her healing inspiration and pioneering experience with plant medicine continues with the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund, dedicated to researching plant medicine and cancer. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be made in her memory to the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund (ONJFoundationFund.org),” the post by Easterling reads.

Newton-John rose to fame at 29, starring in the legendary film Grease alongside John Travolta. She won two Grammy Awards for “I Honestly Love You” and “Physical.” She was also an advocate for breast cancer awareness during her success since she was diagnosed in 1992.
