Grammy Award-winning songwriter, actress, mogul, reality television star. These are all titles belonging to the “Real Boss Housewife of Atlanta,”not to mention the titles of mom and wife. As if the list of accolades was not long enough, Kandi Burruss-Tucker added Winner of The Masked Singer to her growing list of accomplishments. Did we mention that she is the first female to take that title as well?

The Masked Singer, which airs on Fox, first aired in January of 2019 and quickly became a hit with viewers. In case you are one of the few people that haven’t been watching, this is a singing competition like none you’ve ever seen before. The contestants are all performing full out in costumes from head to toe. Each night that they perform, the celebrity panelists Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong, Nicole Scherzinger and Robin Thicke have to figure out who is inside the costumes. The one big caveat is that each contestant is a celebrity. They disguise their voices when speaking so they don’t immediately blow their own cover and they give clues throughout the season to help the viewers figure out who they might be.

During each episode there is a vote and one person is eliminated and this is when we get to find out who’s inside the costume!

There were many surprises throughout season three, and one of the big ones was the frog! We saw “The Frog” do some pretty intense choreography and not only rap but sing a note or two. He was so versatile that the panel was torn between thinking he was either Lil Romeo or Omarion. Much to our surprise when he took off his costume last night to claim his third runner-up position, we got to see that this has been Bow Wow this entire time! Bow Wow, aka Shad Moss, was a fan  favorite this season and he showed a range of talent that might have been a pleasant surprise for some. Taking the second place runner up spot was Turtle who was revealed to be Jesse McCartney. We got to hear him hit some of those signature notes this season that he had been known for throughout his musical career.

And there was one! Throughout the season, “Night Angel” stunned both panelists and viewers with her captivating performances. She gave some clues that stumped some and had many thinking that maybe she was actress Taraji P. Henson. For others, we knew that distinct voice could only belong to one person. We’ve heard it on hit records. We’ve heard it on her number one podcast. We’ve heard it on her after hours variety show. We hear it every week on one of our favorite reality shows.

Last night we got to see, and hear,  “Night Angel,” who we now know was  Kandi Burruss-Tucker, bring down the house with her rendition of “River Deep, Mountain High” by Tina Turner. However, during last night’s finale, when asked by host Nick Cannon how it felt to be the first female winner of the competition, the former Xscape member revealed in a teary eyed response that she had  started to believe that she didn’t sing that well as a soloist anymore. What on earth was she thinking?

The star had joked around on past episodes of The Real Housewives of Atlanta that she doesn’t dance very well and it had kind of been an ongoing joke throughout the seasons. However, during this season of The Masked Singer, she proved to everyone that she could still work a stage and hold her own vocally all by herself. Kandi also reminded us last Sunday on part two of The Real Housewives of Atlanta quarantine reunion special, that she can’t be forgotten because she is “everywhere”. Yes, you are Kandi, and we love it!
