LaTocha Scott-Bivins elegantly graced the latest cover of Sheen Magazine, dressed in all white & decorated with pearls.

On Friday, March 3rd, the Platinum-selling recording artist hosted an intimate listening session for her forthcoming solo album titled The Invitation, slated to be released on April 7th of this year. The event was hosted at Dragonfly in Los Angeles, as guests were welcome to glasses of wine upon arrival.

Speaking with LaTocha on the red carpet, she shared some kind words about the cover. “It’s a little exhilarating for me because this is my first time by myself, on a solo project,” she states. “To have the cover means everything. I was able to live outside of the box a little bit. It was so much fun, they made it so fun.”

When asked what it meant to be here in Los Angeles, she states, “It means everything. This is my first time stepping out on my own. To be here, we just did a couple of things with filming. Wrapped up at the end of the day, so might as well go ahead and give me LA some of this love. I thought the sun was going to be shining, but I brought the sunshine.”

This project is 30 years in the making, as LaTocha spent the majority of her career as a member of R&B quartet XSCAPE. Now, she’s excited as ever to be going back to her roots in the church, delivering a solo inspiration album that takes R&B to gospel.

The message? Just because you’re from the church, doesn’t mean you can’t have fun praising God! This is her personal conversation with God, and she’s reminding folks that your own relationship with God is personal to you.

The evening kicked off with a special listening experience previewing songs off the project, with LaTocha vibing on stage before her highly-anticipated performance. Celebrity sightings include Ray J and Coko from SWV. Her first single is titled “Stay With Me,” arriving on March 7th.

Aside from her own solo music, LaTosha stars in the new reality TV show called The Queens of R&B on Bravo.
