Back in June 2020, following the heartbreaking murder of George Floyd, streaming platform Netflix pledged to donate $100 million to banks and financial institutions that support the Black community and it looks like they’re officially making that promise a reality.

Netflix has confirmed that they will move forward with this donation. Deadline has reported that Netflix plans to give 2% of its cash holdings to Black-led banks and financial institutions. With this, the investment will grow over time.

In speaking of this commitment, Netflix Director of Human Resources said, “So we will be topping up our commitment at the end of the year and moving more cash — over and above the $100 million already committed — into these institutions.”
