When you have a hectic schedule, you often forget to take care of your skin.   After a long day, you immediately want to jump in the bed and fall asleep without washing your face. You may have a full face of makeup on and are too tired to properly remove the foundation, blush, and lipstick.  As a result, your skin may experience congestion coupled with black and whiteheads and maybe a few pimples which leave scars because you attempted to “pop” them. This is the current status of my skin, but I have hope.

Luckily, I met a phenomenal aesthetician, the owner of Rebekah Rich Brow & Beauty, who recommended a series of facials, which will help me even out the tone of my skin – dark spots and an uneven forehead.  The facial included cleaning using Amarte Daily Wonder Cleansing Foam or Karin Herzog Professional Cleansing Gel and then toning to prep for light peeling. After peeling, Rebekah extracted using a “desincrustation” gel under steam (loosens sebum). Lastly, the facial ended with a massage with a vitamin C serum mix and an oxygen mask by Karin Herzog while moisturizing appropriately using Amarte Ultra Veil Broad Spectrum SPF 50+.  All people of color need SPF when you leave the house! My skin has been glowing since my appointment. The next series of facials will include different peels for my skin to even out its tone.  It will take time, but I have learned my lesson  – washing your face at night is an important part of your skincare regimen.
