See Tyler Perry's Moving Speech at E! People's Choice Awards 2020

E!’s People Champion of 2020 has been rewarded!

This year’s recipient of the ward is none other than Tyler Perry! Perry was honored with this award just last night with a special introduction from Tiffany Haddish. Tyler Perry virtually accepted his award from his studio in Atlanta, Georgia.

The award-winning filmmaker discussed his journey to success and how not giving up got him to this point in his career.

Back in October, General Manager of E! News, Live Events & Lifestyle Digital, Jen Neal said, “In a year of unrest and uncertainty, Tyler Perry proved a natural leader. From his pioneering efforts in successfully, and safely, restarting production and creating jobs at Tyler Perry Studios, to personally supporting charities and families in need, he continuously inspires hope in people. We are honored to present him with the People’s Champion of 2020 Award.”

Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta was the first to resume production during the COVID-19 pandemic.
