Just recently, I decided enough was enough, or should I say my hairstylist had enough. I’m embarassed to admit that I hadn’t had a haircut in over a year so needless to say, my hair was in dire need of a cut and overall, better love, am I right?

Every year, I go through the same hair funk, I make a big chop and then decide from that moment on, I’ll take better care of my hair by using better products. I’m going to make an effort to get my hair trimmed every three months so my hair is healthy. Okay, everyone deserves another chance right? Well, I can guarantee you, I really mean it this time and I hope you all will keep me accountable. After my good friend and hairstylist cut my hair, it was time to get rid of the junk I was using as products to “protect my hair.” It started with my shampoo and conditioner and let me tell you, I had no idea what I was putting on my hair.

I’ll admit, I’m cheap. I’m the girl that runs into the drugstore, picks up a shampoo and conditioner I’ve used before, and I’m back out the door. My friend recommended using SheaMoisture because my hair is so thick, it can take product – yet does not need anything overpowering. I wash my hair about every three to four days so it can definetly take alot of product but if you’re not washing your hair with quality products. What are you even doing am I right?

I’m familiar with SheaMosisture because I love Coconut Milk Hair Strengthening Milk. Its a great product to add to the hair before adding gel or mousse for natural curls.

This duo set I tried was made with natural ingredients. For some reason when I smell them, it makes me feel nurtured and clean. My hair is extra dry (especially from the damage before) so I love a good hydrating product.

Both are great because they power through the build up and is super soothing on my scalp. It’s also helped tremendously with drandruff. My hair feels great whether I’ve styled it with heat or wear my hair natural. The conditioner is a truly blessing because it makes my hair silky smooth and shiny.

Needless to say, I’m obsessed. I cannot wait to get my hands on more shampoo and conditioners from SheaMoisture. Let me know which products from SheaMoisture are your holy grail products in the comments below.
