The Recording Academy announced on Wednesday that Silk Sonic, the retro-inspired supergroup featuring Bruno Mars and Anderson.Paak, will open the 64th annual Grammy Awards on Sunday.

The duo will open the Grammy Awards live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas with a performance. They’re nominated for four Grammys, including Record and Song of the Year (for “Leave the Door Open”), Best R&B Performance (for “Leave the Door Open”), and Best R&B Song (another nod for “Leave the Door Open”). Because of it’s release date, the group’s debut album, “An Evening With Silk Sonic,” will be eligible for nomination next year.

The 64th Grammy Awards will air live on CBS on Sunday, April 3, 2022, at 8 pm ET/5 pm PST. It will also be streamed live and recorded for on-demand viewing on Paramount+ on the same day. Trevor Noah will host the show.
