Host of the 2032 Summer Olympics has just been revealed!

The International Olympic Committee announced this morning that the city of Brisbane will host the 2032 Summer Olympics.

Australia’s Prime Minister Scott Morrison said, “It’s a historic day not just for Brisbane and Queensland, but for the entire country,” in an official statement. Adding, “Only global cities can secure the Olympic Games, so this is fitting recognition for Brisbane’s standing.”

Brisbane is the third city in Australia to host the Olympic Games. Back in Melbourne the Olympics took place in Melbourne and in 2000, it took place in Sydney.

After the exciting announcement, crowds celebrated in Brisbane’s South Bank while fireworks lit up the sky!

Bejing will host the 2022 Winter Olympics, with Paris hosting the 2024 Summer Olympics. The 2026 Winter Olympics will take place in Italy’s Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo. The 2028 Summer Olympics will be hold in Los Angeles.
