If this is your first time hearing of Thuy, all you have to do is press play and you’ll fall in love. The Vietnamese singer-songwriter hails from the Bay Area, effortlessly injecting herself as a force to be reckoned with in the music industry. Especially during a time when there seems to be a lack of AAPI representation, Thuy gives hope to all girls who look like her, that they too can make their wildest dreams come true.

Fast forward to 2022, Thuy is excited as ever to be unveiling her highly-anticipated new EP titled girls like me don’t cry. The 7-track project is an ode to all things love, from self-love to relationships to all the hardships in between. The biggest takeaway? It’s okay to cry… it is not a sign of weakness!

To celebrate, Thuy threw an epic album listening party at the Levi’s Haus in West Hollywood, California. Sheen had the pleasure of attending, luckily arriving early enough before the venue reached its max capacity. It’s crazy to think Thuy’s still a rising artist, as she had the entire city come out to support.

This was not your average event, as attendees were welcomed with a custom Levi’s tote bag (which you could get your name embroidered on), a Kogi food truck, sweet treats, and more!

The highlight was, of course, Thuy’s performance, as she blessed the crowd with her beautiful vocals. RINI was in attendance, as they performed their standout cut “trust.”
