With the beauty industry saturated with tons of products, treatments, and philosophies, it can be hard to filter through what’s good for your skin, and what’s not. Plus, “expensive” doesn’t always equal quality, so understanding what’s being put on your skin can make a big difference when it comes to its health and appearance.

USA-based beauty brand, Good Molecules is a trailblazer in the industry creating clean, effective, and affordable skin care. Using ingredients that are backed by science, Good Molecules is dedicated to providing products that actually make a difference on our skin, without having to break the bank.

The beloved and science-y brand is a big believer in being transparent with users about each formula by providing a “Nothing to Hide” ingredient list on each of their product’s packaging. Even better, Good Molecules uses customer feedback to make improvements to their products. To feel comfortable and confident with the Good Molecules products that you use, you can also find an Ingredient Directory on their site to see and learn about the ingredients that are blended in each product.

I’ve been using some of Good Molecules’ best sellers for a simple regimen, and I promise it will have your skin refreshed and radiant. Here’s the quick routine:

Step One: Cleanse

We love clean skin without the dryness, of course, and the Clarify & Cleanse Bar ($5) does just that. The Clarify & Cleanse Bar is a soap-free cleansing bar formulated with salicylic acid, kaolin clay, and cacao powder to detoxify, cleanse, and help maintain a clear complexion. While this cleansing bar is geared for acne-prone skin, it’s suitable for all skin types (even sensitive skin) making it effective no matter what skin type or skin issues you have. This cleansing bar is fragrance-free, sulfate-free, and paraben-free with a pH level of 5.5.-6.5 (for the skin, typically a pH level between 4 and 6 is ideal). What I love the most about this cleansing bar is that it cleans off makeup and impurities really well, and leaves my skin feeling soft and moisturized. To use, I wet the cleansing bar with lukewarm water and lather it onto my skin using my hands. I then rinse and pat dry with a clean towel. This cleansing bar can also be used for bacne!

Step Two: Tone

Next, I use the Niacinamide Brightening Toner ($14). Formulated with a soothing blend of brightening ingredients including niacinamide (a form of Vitamin B3), Vitamin C, arbutin, and licorice root extract, this alcohol-free toner reduces the appearance of dullness, uneven-toned skin, and enlarged pores.. After cleansing, I like to take a couple of drops, and use my hands or a cotton pad to apply the toner over my face and neck. Let the toner completely dry before applying treatments or moisturizers. This toner is my absolute favorite particularly because it makes my skin look radiant and firm, and it works quickly to visibly improve dark spots. The Niacinamide Brightening Toner helps treat acne and eczema with its naturally derived arbutin that improves the look of hyperpigmentation, and the licorice root extract soothes inflammation.

Step Three: Serum

Made with Cetyl Tranexmate Mesylate to target discoloration and promote an even skin tone, the Discoloration Correcting Serum Version 2.0 ($12) might be the perfect solution for you if you’re looking for a treatment that corrects blemish scars and discoloration. This correcting serum is for all skin types, and it prevents inflammation from turning into freckles, moles and hyperpigmentation. One of the key ingredients, Cetyl Tranexmate Mesylate, is an anti-aging depigmentation active that helps achieve a naturally even tone by delivering tranexamic acid into deeper layers of the skin. This ingredient has a similar structure to skin lipids, and it enters right into the skin barrier. I’ve been using this serum at night and it’s super lightweight. I apply about two drops using the pipette after toning, and follow up with moisturizer.

Step Four: Moisturize

Lastly, moisturize using the Silicone-Free Priming Moisturizer ($12). This fragrance-free and mineral-free moisturizer is formulated with shea butter, macadamia seed oil, and a plant-derived silicone alternative to deeply hydrate, smooth, and nourish the skin. It’s a two-in-one moisturizer and primer that moisturizes and preps your skin for makeup. This daily moisturizer is lightweight and works to strengthen, condition, and protect your skin from environmental stress while creating a smooth, plumped-up canvas for a flawless makeup application. Targeting fine lines and dryness, I love how radiant and even toned my skin looks after applying. As the final step of your regimen, apply a pea sized amount to your face, and allow the moisturizer to absorb completely before applying makeup or SPF.
