Festival season is here and for those of us that have moved past the energy of Coachella, we’ve created a sweet list of festivals just for the grown and sexy crowd of 40+. These festivals include some of our most legendary R&B, Funk and Soul acts while also offering the cuisine and shopping experiences we treasure this time of year. These are our To 6 Grown and Sexy Festivals of the 2022 Spring and Summer season.

Make your way to Macon, GA on Saturday, April 30, 2022 to celebrate the music and embrace the culture of Southern Soul as Cameo headlines the Sound of Soul Culture Festival. Enjoy the funkified memories of featured acts Lakeside and The Bar Kays, as well as Lebrado and Tyrus Turner. Held at Brad Henderson Stadium, admission includes your tickets and a souvenir book. 

The New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival is an 8-day festival held April 29 through May 8th in New Orleans at the Fair Grounds Race Course, ten minutes from the French Quarters. With legendary and diverse acts that include Lionel Richie and a special performance by Cee-Lo Green as “Soul Brother #100, A James Brown Tribute.”

Brixton’s premiere Soul, Funk and Jazz Festival, Cross The Tracks Music Festival is a luscious day of music, food, workshops, alongside creative markets, record and art. Held on Sunday JUNE 3, In London, Cross the Tracks features acts like Patrice Rushen and Roy Ayers as well as 40 Street Food vendors and a craft beer fair.

The Funk Fest Tour boasts a combination of Good music, Good food and Good times, the featured acts of Carl Thomas Jodeci, Anthony Hamilton and a No Limit Records reunion with Master, Silk the Shocker and Mia X on June 4th in Orlando Florida.

The Pitchfork Music Festival is an annual summer music festival organized by Pitchfork Media and held in Union Park in Chicago, Illinois. This 3-day festival happens July 15-17th and stars such acts as The Roots and features diverse vendors, as well as specialty record, poster, and craft fairs, the festival works to support local businesses while promoting the Chicago arts and food communities as a whole.

The Austin City Limits Music Festival always ends the year on a sweet and sexy note. This year the festival happens in Zilker Park in Austin Texas October 7-9 and October 14-16. Although this year’s acts have not yet been announced, previous acts include Erykah Badu and Janelle Monae. Promising 100+ bands on 8 stages over 3 days, this festival is massive.
