ABC Delivers a Red Carpet-Worthy Hit With New Show, "Rebel"

Inspired by the hit movie Erin Brokovich, Rebel’s cast is impressively star-studded.

This spring, ABC brings a new series, Rebel, inspired by the blockbuster hit, Erin Brockovich, which was released back in 2000. Rebel centers around the legendary Katey Sagal as Annie “Rebel” Bello, a fictional character whose mission very much mirrors that of the real-life Brockovich. Her fight is for those in marginalized groups in need of legal representation and Rebel gets the job done by any means necessary, very often even sacrificing her own freedom.

Created by Krista Vernoff, showrunner for mega-hit Grey’s Anatomy, the cast of Rebel is stacked with legends and television veterans! Giving us heavy hitters like James Lesure, Tamala Jones, Lex Scott Davis, and Andy Garcia, this cast is dripping with experience that is set up perfectly to create on-screen magic. While also shining a light on what is a very real issue for many, Rebel is also sure to deliver some twists, some turns, some complicated relationship drama as well as some laugh-out-loud moments, making it a must-see for ABC’s Spring lineup.

In the highly anticipated series, Tamala Jones, best known for her roles in Booty Call, What Men Want, Kingdom Come, and The Wood, plays no-nonsense private investigator Lana. Jones took some time out to give us an inside scoop on the filming of Rebel during the pandemic and to share with us what it was like to work with such an amazing cast.
