On Thursday, Apple Music announced a partnership with the NBA that includes an Apple Music playlist featuring upcoming independent artists.
The Base: Line playlist includes a variety of songs with a hip-hop vibe and will be updated regularly. In an interview, Jeff Marsilio, the NBA’s Senior Vice President of New Media Distribution said, “You will also be able to hear tracks on the NBA app and website, and in-game highlights shared on social media.”
It looks like the NBA is on to something with its new partnership with Apple Music.
Apple Music has more than 50 million paying subscribers. Apple’s partnership with the NBA is expected to bring in new subscribers who are fans of the game.
