The former reality star, model & entrepreneur sat down with Caresha, one half of the rap group City Girls, for a raw and unfiltered conversation on everything from her past relationships to her new image and spiritual journey.

Blac Chyna (real name, Angela White) has been in the news and social media heavy in the past couple of months for making public, her shocking physical and spiritual transformation. In March she shared multiple videos on Instagram, detailing her process to remove her face and lip fillers, some of the silicone injections in her butt, a tattoo, as well as a breast reduction. She also revealed that she had been baptized in May 2022, on her birthday. On the latest episode the popular Revolt TV podcast show “Caresha Please”, Blac Chyna opened up about the motivation behind these changes and even her decision to now go by her birth name, Angela. “I just honestly started to pour into myself, because for years I always poured into everybody else except for myself. And I always looked for validation from people…and from materialistic things and looks and hair and nails and all of this, and it was just burying, honestly, who I was. And now that I’m getting older, I’m trying to figure out ‘who’s Angela’?” When asked “who is Angela?”, she described herself as “a sweet person, a mother, a businesswoman—very misunderstood.”

Much of that misunderstanding came from two of her high-profile relationships. She dated rapper Tyga from 2011 to 2014 and has a son with him. In 2016 she began dating Rob Kardashian, younger brother of the Kardashian sisters, Kim, Khloe, Kourtney, Kendall, and Kylie, and they have a daughter together as well. When her relationship with Rob was revealed in 2016, it set the internet on fire because it seemed like the ultimate revenge, after Kylie, her close friend, Kim’s sister, began dating her ex Tyga very soon after they split. Angela insisted that “getting her lick back” was not the reason she got together with Rob. She shared that she was initially very suspicious when he started hitting her up on Instagram, but after talking with him on the phone and spending time with him at the house he and his sister, Khloe, were living at, she found him to be a really sweet guy. “He’s [a] super chill vibe, like even now, and I understand why he’s like really not out, in the public, you get burnt out from it and people burn you out, so why even do it.” Angela revealed that while she and Tyga don’t communicate without intermediaries, she and Rob remain friends.

Although Angela’s faith journey has encouraged her to make big changes in her life, she’s adamant about remaining relatable and true to herself. “I want people to know too, like ok, its Angela White then it’s also Blac Chyna because I don’t want people to get so caught up on this whole church girl thing. And I don’t want people to be looking at me like ‘oh, she can’t dress this way’ or ‘she can’t do this’, or ‘she can’t do this type of music or dress this type of way or go to these type of events’, cause that’s not the case. Of course, I’m going to watch certain people and crowds that I be around but at the very end of the day it’s still Blac Chyna, the brand.”

Angela knows people will still misunderstand her but hopes some good will come out of her sharing this part of her life; “if people don’t get it then they just don’t get it. And it’s just still, at the end of the day, my life, and hopefully I can inspire other people to still do them, but still have some respect for themselves and really get to know God, cause it’s really your relationship with God, nobody else’s”.
