LOS ANGELES (February 24, 2023) — The “54th NAACP Image Awards” was extra special this year as winners and nominees was recognized in front of a live audience for the first time in three years.
The evening was dedicated in honoring the proud achievements of black excellence and highlighting the importance of diverse representation across entertainment, social justice, politics and the corporate landscape.
“The Black experience has never been a monolith. We are a diverse and dynamic community and we must push forward to highlight the culture and narrative that we’ve contributed – not only to this country, but the globe.” said NAACP President and CEO Derrick Johnson during the luncheon.
