Bobby Shmurda has officially cut ties with Epic Records, starting his label, GS9, and preparing for a BodBoy rest of summer.

The “Shmoney Dance” rapper was released from prison less than two years ago and wasted no time getting back into the feel of things. The first order of business was breaking free from his contract with Epic Records. Now that it’s official, Bobby Shmurda is creating art his way, starting his label, GS9, in partnership with ONErpm. The wait for new music is also over as the artist is set to release his first post-prison EP BodBoy on Aug 5.

In control of his sound, Shmurda released the first single from the LP, “Hoochie Daddy,” which is a spin-off of Uncle Luke’s “Hoochie Mama.” The record explores a more upbeat sound that fans aren’t used to but has received praise.

Below is the track list:

  1. Gorilla
  2. From The Slums
  3. Hoochie Daddy
  4. Whole Brick
  5. No Sense
  6. Glock Inside Featuring Fat Tony
  7. RSN
  8. BodMon
  9. On God Featuring Rowdy Rebel

In an interview with HotNewHipHop, Shmurda says he’s taking the power he has now into consideration. “I didn’t even really know about the music industry. I didn’t even give a f**k about the music industry when I first came in the game, and then I see how powerful music was, and like how kids really react to it. I’m taking all of that power into consideration now.”
