What do you define as success?

Tahirah: Besides the seemingly obvious definition of success being financial freedom, success to me is freedom mentally, and being in control of how you spend your time. Knowing how to eliminate negative energy and things that don’t contribute to your growth.

What was the inspiration behind your brand?

Tahirah: Although I have multiple brands, my inspiration for all of them is passion and personal connection. For Creative Impulse, dance has always been a big part of my life from a very young age. T2 Boutique is inspired by my love for fashion, fashion shows, and my sister’s talent of being a seamstress. T2 Investments was inspired because of the need for BLACK generational wealth and owning real estate. Lastly, Private Party Igloo was inspired by me and my sister’s love and niche for hosting events, parties, and pop-ups.

Do you believe in work-life balance? If so, how do you maintain it?

Tahirah: Work-Life balance is extremely important to me. I’m a firm believer in ‘work hard, play harder’. Knowing how to be productive, but maintaining a balance between family time, self-care and a social life is essential.

It’s Black Business Month. Name 2 Black CEOs who inspire you and why.

Tahirah: All black women business owners that have positively used their social media platforms to skyrocket their business. I admire how they are able to be motivated and fearless enough to showcase all aspects of their business, from beginning to end. Some examples are my soror, Pinky Cole with Slutty Vegan in Atlanta, and Angel Gregorio with Spice Suite in the DMV.

What’s your best piece of advice for aspiring and new entrepreneurs?

Tahirah: Remain solid, motivated, and consistent. Consistency is key! Motivating yourself when no one else is around. Embracing the highs and lows and always being willing to learn. Celebrate your successes but remain humble.

What would attract listeners to your story?

Tahirah: My transparency. I am unfiltered, unapologetic, and relatable.

What is your proudest business accomplishment?

Tahirah: I’ll be celebrating 20 years in 2024 with my dance company. I am also proud that I have not had a boss in over 10 years. I’m most proud that my story has been and can be inspiring.

How can people remain connected with you?

Tahirah: Be sure to connect on Instagram: https://instagram.com/misty1128?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
