We know the digital divide is real in this social media age where nearly everybody keeps their head down looking at their phones. Shout out to the families that actually still sit down together at the dinner table on a regular day from time to time.

Celebrity Chef Jojo aims to get more families talking with each other through a good meal. Her goal is to help counter rising mental health challenges among youth by encouraging adults to include them in the kitchen. Recently, the Psychiatry and Children’s Hospital Association declared a national emergency in child and adolescent mental health.

A sense of isolation can be a key trigger for mental illness. Chef Jojo is bridging the gap. At the beginning of 2022 she created the campaign: “Uncomplicate It: Tips to Simplify Cooking with Loved Ones.

Hailing from Kansas City and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, the now Atlanta based chef has catered for Ice Cube, LL Cool J, Ricky Smiley, Tyler Perry, Wiz Khalifa, 50 Cent and more.

As part of the Uncomplicate it mission, she hosts LIVE demos such as the one recently facilitated at Williams Sonoma in Atlanta to help families simplify the cooking process and have more time to talk about any challenges that may be occuring.

To ease the co-cooking  process even further, her Jojo’s Seasoning line includes a collection made just for kids, the Hannah J. Collection seasoning line. The line was Inspired by her five year old niece Hannah J.  A strong family plays a major part in an individual’s wellness.

Even as a sought after Celebrity Chef, with many accomplishments Chef Jojo ultimately credits her success to “the years I spent in the kitchen with my grandmother.

Targeted mental health solutions and bringing families together sounds like an incredible recipe the world needs right now more than ever.
