Celebrity hairstylist Dimitris Giannetos has styled Lori Harvey, Ciara, and Megan Fox, to name a few. He shared with us his go-to styling products and how we too, can become redheads at home like Meg using Lime Crime’s semi-permanent dye in ‘Flaming Red’.

Hi Dimitris! It’s a pleasure to chat with you. Megan [Fox] definitely has so many amazing fashion and beauty moments. Tell us what goes into the process of choosing these standout looks, including her latest—the Vanity Fair look.

I’ve been working with Megan Fox for the last two years, and they’ve literally been the two best years of my career on a personal and professional level! Megan is the ultimate muse to create iconic looks [for]. From dark long locks to baby pink to fire red—she looks absolutely stunning in all of them! We tried every hair color and for the Vanity Fair [party], she decided to dye her hair permanent red, a color which makes her eyes stand out and fits her skin tone perfectly!

You don’t only work with Megan, you also have styled Kourtney Kardashian, Ciara, Camilla Cabello, & Lori Harvey—what are a few of your must-have tools or products for any client?

My go-to product is definitely the L’Oreal Paris Elnett Satin Extra Strong Hold Hairspray to hold and lock in the hairstyles. I also love my GHD Air 1600w Professional Hair Dryer, it’s definitely essential for any effortless blowout.

What tips do you have for people trying to change their hair color at home—namely to a red?

My main tip to people trying this is: if you try to color your hair at home, choose a lighter shade compared to the one you see in the picture on the box because the color always comes out darker on your hair than in the picture.

Lime Crime’s Unicorn Hair in Fiery Red seems like a great way to duplicate Megan and Ciara’s looks at home. Aside from its fabulous packaging, Lime Crime contains no ammonia, bleach, or peroxide, is 100% vegan and cruelty-free, and boasts an easy DIY (Do It Yourself) application.
