Tell us about your journey of crystal healing. How did you get into this method of healing?

I’ve always been attracted to crystals even as young as the age of 8. I can remember my mother placing amethyst stones in various rooms of our home. Though I didn’t have a full understanding of the history or benefits I would eventually develop a lifelong connection with crystals. I often dabbled in hobbies making crystal jewelry, and later established a small business. But it wasn’t until experiencing traumatic events and attending therapy sessions that I would become fully immersed into holistic wellness, specifically crystal healing. I found true tangible benefits by incorporating crystals with meditation, self-care rituals, and other mindfulness practices. Becoming overwhelmingly fascinated and excited about the benefits of crystal healing I pursued certifications in Reiki (energy healing) and a Complementary and Alternative Health Degree. It was my goal to share this information with as many people as I can to help de-mystify and re-author the healing narrative.

What are some of the biggest misconceptions about energy healing with crystals you know aren’t true?

The most common misconceptions about energy healing would be that it is connected to a particular religion or will interfere with current religious practices. That could not be the furthest from the truth. In fact, energy healing is a part of your total wellness just as much as your emotional, mental and physical. Crystals have been used for thousands of years dating back to ancient Egyptian use. Not only are they unique and organic minerals that are derived from theearth, but crystals work as a calibration for energy healing. I always like to reference how the earth provides us with our daily necessities. Just as much as we need sunlight and water, our bodies need energy. Crystals provide that and more!

What advice do you have for people that are looking to find healing with crystals? Why would you recommend this practice of healing?

There is plenty of information on the web and even on platforms such as Tik Tok that describe and speak to crystals and historical meanings. However, because crystal healing has become so trendy it is recommended to consult with a Holistic Practitioner that is certified and educated in mind/body health and energy management along with crystal healing. Consulting with a certified practitioner will ensure you receive accurate techniques and practices as it relates to healing, rituals, and recommendations for genuine crystals procurement.

Crystals and energy healing serve as both a preventative and reactive form of healing that almost anyone can benefit from. Though I find it to be an amazing practice to incorporate, crystal healing may not be for everyone. I would recommend this type of healing to an individual who is open-minded to the elements of nature and welcomes the possibilities of healing through holistic health. It’s also extremely important to be well informed with research before pursuing any form of alternative forms of self-help/care.

What can we look forward to seeing from you this year?

Right now, I’m practicing as a full-time holistic practitioner and serving as Chief Wellness Curator for JOHARI & LOU Artisan Soul Stones, but I am also working on launching a “SO SOULISTIC” podcast that will be geared towards re-shaping the narrative of healing.
