DankScole on Breaking Barriers in the World of Content Creating & Music

At just 24-years-old, DankScole is on her way to making quite the name for herself. Now you may be familiar with the creative for her YouTube videos as well as her TikTok. With much success in the digital space, the young creator is now stepping into the music lane and we wanted to know all the details. In our exclusive interview with DankScole, she opened up to us about her start on YouTube, her new single, and much more!

Tell us how you got into the world of content creating.
It’s always been something that I’ve been extremely interested in. I would say that watching my younger brothers start out on YouTube was something that inspired me. I saved up for a laptop, I got a camera, and the first thing I did was start with gaming. I start didn’t creating until I realized that content is a way that you can express yourself, and I felt like it was something I lacked in my life. That’s how I got into creating. I wanted to create content that relates to other people and showcase myself and my personality.

How does it feel to know you have over one million subscribers tuning into your content?
Honestly, even now I have the same feeling. I was shocked. I still am. It’s so crazy, because I wake up as me every single day. To know that one million people come to watch me is such a surreal feeling. I come from a pretty small town; I didn’t know too much about outside of Milwaukee where I’m from. To wake up and know that one million people want to watch me or that I may have put a smile on someone’s face is absolutely crazy! I’m so humbly blessed. I think its dope being a Black female in the LGBT+ community, it makes it that much more powerful to me. I feel like there are a lot of things that are against me.

Tell us about your new single. What made you want to step into music?
Music has always been a big part of my life. I would say it’s always been my form of expression. I sometimes struggle with my words when communicating. If you ask me to write it down and put it in a song, I can talk to you! As far as inspiration, I think I was inspired by my recent growth on YouTube and my recent growth on social media. At the beginning of the year, I was at 300K subscribers. I am at 1.73 million! That was the biggest factor that inspired me to write my songs. The single is out now! I was inspired by success I have had and all the opportunities I have had. It’s a feel good vibe, I want people to listen to it in the car before work, before a basketball game, cleaning, whatever it may be. It’s a happy song that reminds us to enjoy what we have in front of us because you never know what can happen tomorrow, nothing is guaranteed.

What are you working on and what can we expect to see from you in 2022?

I actually just started going back to school a couple weeks ago. I want to learn how to master and produce my own music. I will be working on a full project that I’ll be releasing next year. The entire project is going to be done by me as far as production, beats, and mastering. That’s what I’m working on, I’m really excited. Being back to school and learn about all this is exciting for me, big things are coming. You will remember my name!
